A Weekend Away

We have just had a fantastic weekend away with the kids to Beaumaris, Anglesey. The skies were blue, the sun was shining but boy was it cold! Freezing in fact! It was really nice however to see the sea and walk along the front at Beaumaris. We took Pippa’s bucket and spade down to the beach but unfortunately the sand was a bit frosty! As usual I had neither hat nor gloves but I did manage to take some great reference shots of Beaumaris and the castle.

A Walk on the Wild Side

Sunday afternoon we enjoyed a walk out around Todmorden Fishing pond to take some reference photographs of trees and roots. It was a bit wet and misty but really fresh and the kids enjoyed squelching around in the mud in their wellies. I got some great photographs including the photo of the mallard duck.

Normality returns

After what seems like an eternity of Christmas face filling its good to get back to some normal food tonight, beef stew and dumplings and a pint of Bare Arts brown ale from Todmorden.

A trip out to Ferney Lee School Wild Garden

This afternoon the sun was shining and the rain had eased so we wrapped up and went for an exploration of the wild garden at Ferney Lee School. We knew it was going to be muddy but Pippa loved squelching in the muddy puddles whilst Sarah, Oscar and I took some snaps. We then went for a scoot over the hills surrounding Todmorden and via Hepponstall and Hebden Bridge.
